Tragic accident in Munich: Toddler dies after collision!
A tragic traffic accident occurred on November 10, 2025 in the Berg am Laim district of Munich. At around 3:30 p.m. there was a serious collision between a Skoda and a BMW at the intersection of Kreillerstrasse and St.-Veit-Strasse. The 37-year-old driver of the Skoda, who was traveling with two four-year-old children in the back seat, wanted to turn left at the intersection when the 60-year-old driver of the oncoming BMW wanted to pass the intersection in the direction of Trudering.
All five occupants of the two vehicles were injured in this collision. Unfortunately, the two children in the Skoda suffered particularly serious injuries. One child later died in hospital as a result of the accident. The situation on site was dramatic as both vehicles were totaled. The Munich traffic police have now started an investigation into the exact cause of the accident and the intersection was closed for around three hours, which led to significant traffic delays. Such accidents always shed light on the safety situation in road traffic.
Traffic situation in Germany
The most common causes of accidents are insufficient distance, inadequate speed and driving under the influence of alcohol. These facts show how important it is for all road users to take responsibility and look out for each other. This problem is particularly noticeable in Munich, a city with dense traffic.
The human component
Accidents often have serious consequences - the affected families experienced this firsthand. Human factors, such as inattention and recklessness, remain the main causes of traffic accidents. In order for a change in thinking to occur, we need better infrastructure, more aware road users and innovative solutions such as autonomous vehicles. These measures are necessary to reduce the number of traffic accidents and ultimately save lives.
In the meantime, it remains important that drivers, cyclists and pedestrians treat each other with respect and always keep safety in mind. This is the only way to prevent tragic incidents like the one in Berg am Laim.
