Munich is bubbling with joy: the outdoor pool season starts with new attractions!
The summer season in Munich has very special highlights to offer this year. The city has eight outdoor swimming pools that not only provide cooling, but also sport and games. The natural pools, which implement ecological concepts and offer welcome refreshment in the green Munich city area, are particularly popular. The Maria Einsiedel natural pool in Thalkirchen is a real gem with chlorine-free water and a 50-meter swimming pool that is connected to the non-swimmers area via a wide canal. Here bathers can enjoy and relax on the berths on the banks of the Isar Canal.
Another attraction is the Michaelibad in the Ramersdorf-Perlach district. Here, visitors can try out a jumping facility with heights of 1 to 10 meters or have fun on the impressive 64-meter slide. For the little ones there is a children's pool with a mini slide and an indoor pool with a sauna area. The price for entry to all Munich outdoor pools is 6.30 euros, reduced price 4 euros - a visit is twice as much fun!
Diverse offerings at the outdoor pools
Closely followed by this outdoor pool is the Dantebad on the western edge of the Olympic Park. Water polo competitions were held here during the Olympic Games in 1972. Today, bathers enjoy the large grandstand area and the 50, 30 and 25 meter pools, including a special nudist area. The Georgenschwaige natural pool in Schwabing-West also recently reopened after fire damage and impresses with barrier-free access to the chlorine-free 50-meter swimming pool.
In the West outdoor pool in Pasing, sports-loving Munich residents can not only swim, but also play football, enjoy beach volleyball or table tennis. The Ungererbad also offers several swimming pools and an exciting 57-meter water slide, while the Schyrenbad, Munich's oldest outdoor pool open since 1847, invites you to relax with an adventure pool and a kiosk with a beer garden.
And the Prinzregentenbad, also affectionately known as “Prince”, has enjoyed great popularity since it opened in 1936. In addition to the 25-meter sports pool, there is an adventure pool with a current channel, massage jets and neck showers, while a paddling pool offers its own play area for smaller bathers. A 50-meter water slide makes the fun perfect!
Technological innovations and more
A completely different topic that is also causing a stir is the introduction of the Chinese version of ChatGPT. This was developed specifically for users in China and allows direct access without a VPN via various mirror sites. The benefits are impressive: from fluent conversations in the local language to simplified registration. This development shows how technology can overcome barriers and offers numerous new possibilities.
For those who enjoy consuming multimedia content, there are a variety of language options on platforms such as YouTube, including German. Videos from all over the world are available in different languages, broadening users' cultural horizons. As with outdoor swimming pools, the use of technology has also brought about significant changes in the digital world.
The summer season in Munich is not only a time for visiting the outdoor pool, but also a testament to innovation and change in the city and beyond. Enjoy the hot days and cool off in one of the numerous outdoor pools, or discover the possibilities of new technologies!
