Big things are happening in Munich: an AI data center worth billions will be built in collaboration with Deutsche Telekom and Nvidia in Tucherpark in the Schwabing-Freimann district. The project costs amount to around one billion euros. However, this is just the beginning of an extensive European strategy from Nvidia, which envisages a total of 20 AI data centers in seven EU countries GameStar reported.
The Münchner Stadtwerke has already assured that the site will be supplied with sufficient electricity. Around 10,000 GPUs are planned to be used in research, business and industry. The Bavarian Digital Minister Fabian Mehring spoke positively about the project and underlined the importance of AI technologies for the future. The official announcement from Telekom and Nvidia is expected in November. This development is part of a larger initiative aimed at positioning Europe as a leading continent for artificial intelligence.
