Neuperlach gets a new neighborhood park: a green meeting place for everyone!

Something is happening in Munich-Neuperlach: A new neighborhood park is being realized, and construction work will start in the summer of 2025. As Radio Gong reports, this project is a central part of the urban development in the so-called Alexisquartier, which is located between Karl-Marx-Ring and Friedrich-Creuzer-Straße extends.

Demos Wohnbau GmbH will build around 1,300 apartments, three daycare centers and several shops at this location. As part of the socially just use of land (SoBon), the creation of a publicly accessible green space was also agreed. This park area will cover a total of 3.5 hectares and should not only be green, but also make you feel good.

A place of meeting

The plan includes numerous facilities that meet the needs of the entire population. The park will be equipped with trees, flowering meadows and a barrier-free path system. A large park promenade in the north will be ideal for strolling, while a 1,500 m² playground will offer numerous attractions for children, including water games and a mud area. A youth area prevista also has a sports area for football and basketball as well as a converted shipping container as a meeting point.

But the park is not just for the little ones. There are also offers for adults and seniors: a boules pitch, a chess area, shady places to relax and a self-cleaning, free toilet round off the offer. A green strip in the south of the district on Zenzl-Mühsam-Straße, which also offers an important fresh air function for climate adaptation, ensures additional well-being.

Sustainability in focus

The total investment of 7.7 million euros will be borne entirely by Demos Wohnbau. The park is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2028, with the exception of a small area in the southern green belt. An example of successful urban development that also strengthens Munich's reputation as a city worth living in.

Similar to the European context, where cities like Riga strive for sustainable urban design through development programs, Munich shows with this project how important the creation of green spaces and public spaces is for the quality of life in the city. EuroHealthNet highlights that such initiatives not only promote recreation, but also promote social integration and health benefits.

Overall, it can be said: In Neuperlach a meeting place is being created that enriches the neighborhood and offers space for relaxation, play and sporting activities. A good knack for creating a livable environment for all generations is demonstrated here. Who knows, maybe this park will soon become the new centerpiece of the area!
