Shock in Laim: Children's playground smeared with Nazi graffiti!
What's going on in Munich? An incident in Laim is currently causing a stir. Between Tuesday, June 10th and Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, unknown perpetrators defaced a children's playground with National Socialist graffiti. The significant crime occurred between 6:00 p.m. and 11:15 a.m., with playground equipment, trash cans and seating being smeared. Fortunately, the graffiti has now been made unrecognizable. The police have begun investigations and are examining possible crimes, including the use of license plates of unconstitutional organizations as well as incitement and damage to property. The Munich Police Headquarters asks witnesses who saw anything related to the crime on Agricolastrasse, Stöberlstrasse or Perhamerstrasse to come forward.
Politically motivated crime, particularly in the “PMK right-wing” area, has increased in Germany. According to current figures from... Federal Criminal Police Office Cases in this sector increased by 23.21% to 28,945. This illustrates the great relevance of politically motivated crime for the security situation in our country. Even in the Munich area we are not unconcerned about this, as the incident in Laim shows.
Traffic accidents in the area
But it's not just political riots that are currently keeping people in Munich busy. On Friday, June 13, 2025, there was a traffic accident between a car and a motorcycle in Planegg. An 18-year-old who was driving his Kawasaki collided with a 20-year-old in a Dacia at an intersection. The young motorcyclist fell and had to be taken to hospital with injuries. The Munich traffic police are investigating the exact cause of the accident. Here too, calls for witnesses are important to clarify what happened, especially about a white VW that may have contributed to the accident.
Another accident also occurred on Friday in Schwabing. At around 4:15 p.m., a 25-year-old cyclist was hit by a bus as it overtook her. The cyclist was pushed against a parked car and injured herself. The bus driver initially fled, but was later identified. However, there was a happy ending to the search for a missing 85-year-old, who was found safely in Schwabing-Freimann on the afternoon of June 13th after leaving a nursing home.
A look at the numbers
The increase in politically motivated crimes is an alarming development. The area of hate crime, for example, shows an increase of 50%, reaching around 17,007 cases. These also include anti-Semitic crimes, which have reached worrying proportions with an increase of 95.53% to 5,164 cases. In comparison, there has been a decline in politically motivated acts of violence. Due to the current situation, it is important for all of us to keep a watchful eye on our surroundings and to take active action against such riots.
The Munich police have taken decisive action on this. Together with the public, it is important to take an active stand against hatred and violence. Anyone who has seen something should not hesitate to get in touch.
The respective police stations in Munich are available to provide information about the incidents. The fire department and police must continue to work together to ensure safety in our neighborhoods.
