Weekend highlights: concerts, triathlon and market rally in Wunstorf!
An exciting program awaits the citizens of Wunstorf and the surrounding area next weekend from June 13th to 15th. A highlight will be the weekly market on Friday, where the Wunstorf police and security consultants will set up an information stand. Visitors have the opportunity to take part in a market rally. In addition, a total of 15 market bags will be raffled off at 12 p.m. - a great opportunity to do a good deal and experience the colorful diversity of the market.
On Friday evening there is a concert by the Songliner group in the Blumenauer Wäldchen. From 7 p.m. listeners can look forward to a mix of hits and unknown songs. Visitors are invited to bring their own seating; admission is free, but a hat donation is requested.
New citizen reception and other events
Saturday is entirely dedicated to the reception for new residents, which has the motto “Wunstorf on the move”. From 11:30 a.m., stands will provide information about local offers and there will be the opportunity to talk to politicians and youth parliamentarians. A fun duck race is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. The members of the Steinhuder Meer Lions Club, who offer herring dishes and fish sandwiches, ensure your physical well-being.
In addition, the Luther Fire Department is organizing a performance march on Saturday. The first group starts at 8:15 a.m. at the equipment shed on the church square. Volunteers are available to provide food and drinks to both participants and onlookers.
Sports and festivals on Sunday
Sunday brings with it the second Steinhuder-Meer Triathlon. The running and cycling routes lead through the idyllic landscapes of Bokeloh, Mesmerode, Haste and the core town of Wunstorf. The competition begins at 8 a.m., while the swimming section starts and ends on the beach terraces.
The baptismal service in the Luthe natural adventure pool from 11 a.m. is a special event for families. After the service, a family celebration offers free food such as grilled food and salads as well as coffee and cake - perfect for spending the day together.
From Sunday, June 15th, art lovers can visit the exhibition “Romantic Rebellion – Street Art in the City Church” by graffiti artist Patrik Wolters. The opening of the exhibition is scheduled for 3 p.m., entry is also free and the exhibition will be on view until August 17th.
For the active citizens, there is a bike tour from Hohen Holz to Steinhude, which starts at 3 p.m. at the Alten's Ruh forest restaurant. Participation costs 10 euros for young people aged 15 and over and adults. And on the same day, fans of classical music can attend a rock concert by the classic rock band Re-Play at the Sigwards Church. The concert starts at 5 p.m., with a presale price of 10 euros and 12 euros at the box office.
The weekend promises a successful mix of entertainment, education and community.
