After more than 40 years in the heart of Dortmund-Wickede, the traditional Stations Grill will close its doors on August 31, 2025. Operators Alexia and Ilias Balauras are saying goodbye to their well-deserved retirement and can look back on a long time full of gastronomic experiences. With a heartfelt thank you to their loyal guests, they would like to share the memories they have collected over the years.
The Stations-Grill, located at Gerlindstrasse 2, at the corner of Dollersweg, was a popular destination for real gourmets of Greek cuisine for over four decades. Many regular guests now share their experiences and special moments in the snack bar in a Facebook group. “It's a shame that we'll soon have to do without our beloved grill,” said a long-time visitor.
Retirement and succession
For Alexia and Ilias Balauras, family now comes first. Fortunately, they plan to spend a lot of time with their grandchildren. Many villagers are grateful for the immense support that the operators have provided over the years. A successor for the popular snack bar has already been found: The new operator will continue to run the restaurant under the name “Baris-Grill” and continue to offer the Greek cuisine that many fans love.
For the Balauras, the step into retirement is also a farewell to an era. "We are overwhelmed by the support we received from our guests. It was a wonderful trip," explains Ilias. “It’s time to explore new avenues and enjoy family.”
