Brutal attack on football fan: Police are looking for witnesses in Sendling!

On the warm summer night of August 3, 2024, at exactly 12:25 a.m., an innocent football fan from Saarland fell victim to a sneaky robbery at the Harras subway station in Munich-Sendling. The 51-year-old man, who had just returned from a game and was proudly wearing his 1. FC Saarbrücken scarf, encountered an unknown perpetrator who unexpectedly attacked him from behind. The attacker used all his force to tear off the scarf that was tightly knotted around the fan's neck, causing the victim to fall backwards and sustain minor injuries to his head and arms.

The perpetrator, who fled with the scarf in an unknown direction, remains unidentified to this day. This prompted the police to launch a public search to obtain information from the public. “We ask anyone who has seen anything to contact us,” explains a police spokesman. Information can be given to Commissariat 23 on 089 / 2910-0 or to any police station. The surveillance camera footage that documented the incident could prove important in catching the perpetrator. Among others, Radio Gong reports on this.

The investigation is ongoing

Despite intensive investigations, the police have so far been unable to find any trace of the attacker. The incident arouses concern among the Munich population, especially since police crime statistics show that robbery crimes are not losing importance in the city. The city administration emphasizes that each case is carefully documented and recorded in order to obtain a comprehensive picture of the security situation. Types of offenses that do not fall under administrative offenses are also recorded, such as the brutal acts that sometimes make Munich's streets less safe, as t-online.de reports.

Given the ongoing debate about safety on public transport, it is clear that the Harras subway station is not immune to violent attacks. As one of the central hubs in Munich's local transport, special attention should be paid to safety here. This incident is another example of what can go wrong when some people have a poor grasp of the laws of civilization.

The police are calling for help

In the course of the search for the predatory perpetrator, it is now time to keep our eyes open together.
