Radl star trip inspires thousands: a highlight for Munich!

On Sunday, April 21, 2025, Munich experienced a hustle and bustle when the Radstern trip of the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC) rolled across the city. More than 16,000 cycling took part in the demo, which significantly exceeded the expectations of the organizers. With an inviting motto: "Five years of Radscheid Munich: Where are our bike paths?", The participants expressed their displeasure with the lack of progress in the implementation of bike paths. At Süddeutsche the event was described as pronounced and creative.

The route was anything but everyday. The ADFC organized a total length of 800 kilometers and mobilized 15 bike demo trains from all over the region to Munich, all of which started from 12:15 p.m. A special highlight of the trip was the 3 -kilometer route on the A95 motorway, which was a unique experience for some participants. "The event takes place in any weather," said the organizers who ensured that 300 volunteers guaranteed the smooth process.

a festival for the whole family

As reported by Lora, families with children in different starting points. With colorful signs and in leisure clothes, the cyclists gathered in Obersendling and later moved to the Königsplatz for the big rally from around 3:30 p.m. Kathrin Gerle also drew attention to herself: she had attached a soap bubble machine to her luggage rack to give the small and large cyclists joy.

However, the mood was not only happy. The bike ride also had a serious undertone and was a clear reminder for more traffic in traffic. While all participants shared the love of cycling, some self -painted signs showed their demands for better bike paths and a secure infrastructure. Klaus stood out of the crowd with a converted Bonanzarad, which was equipped with electric drive; Together with his family, he celebrated the freedom of cycling.

Amazing numbers and safety precautions

The police estimated the number of participants at 5500 at around 4 p.m., which was quickly described as unrealistic, because the organizers reported the record of 16,000 participants at 4:45 p.m. This discrepancy not only underlines the great interest in the cycling ride, but also shows how important the voice of the cyclists in the city is. The security measures were not to be neglected; 650 police officers and volunteers secured the event and ensured the necessary protection.

For everyone who missed the event or would like to find out more about the cycling movement, there will soon be a summary of the bike ride in Gerys and Tary’s Favourites, as lora. The first part of the summary will be broadcast on FM on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. and on the Internet live stream. The post -reporting offers the opportunity to review the best moments of the bike ride.

The ADFC continues to require progress in implementing the planned bike paths. The great demand and colorful participation show that it is necessary to take the voices of the cyclists seriously. Although the event was a great success, the question remains: How long do we have to wait for safe and well -developed bike paths?
