Aggressive attacks in Augsburg: women beat passengers on a tram!
Several incidents of assault and other crimes have been recorded in Munich in recent days, keeping both the public and the police on their toes. On October 3, 2025, there was a brutal attack on a tram in the city center: a 27-year-old drunk woman attacked a group of five, consisting of young men of Turkish and Syrian nationality, and beat them indiscriminately. The tram driver, a Greek woman, was not spared either. The injuries of the people affected were classified as minor on site. The police arrested the aggressive perpetrator, who was also uncooperative and insulting towards the officers. They are expected to face charges of bodily harm and insults, as the Bavarian Police reports.
A day later, on October 4th, another incident occurred in a bar on Ulmer Straße in Oberhausen. Here an argument broke out between two men with Iraqi citizenship and a 24-year-old employee. The reason was a dismissal for smoking, which led to a verbal escalation. Here too, everyone involved suffered minor injuries, with one of the men having to be taken to Augsburg University Hospital. After they returned to the bar, another argument broke out, which ultimately led to the 29-year-old being taken into police arrest.
An unfortunate fall
On the same day, a 34-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in Jakobervorstadt. He fell while trying to avoid a parked e-scooter. A breath alcohol test showed almost two per thousand, which indicates a possible threat to road safety. He suffered multiple rib fractures and had to be hospitalized. The police are now looking for witnesses who saw the incident.
A worrying increase in physical injuries
These incidents should not be viewed in isolation, as the numbers of physical injuries recorded by the police show a worrying trend. According to statistics that record developments from 2014 to 2024, there is an increasing trend in Germany. In 2024, over 200,000 cases were documented by the police, which represents a notable increase in recent years, as data from Statista shows.
In addition to physical attacks, there are also psychological aspects that are often not sufficiently taken into account. Bodily assault can be defined not only by physical attacks such as punches or kicks, but also by psychological impacts that can have serious consequences for those affected. This form of violence is not clearly regulated in the German legal system, but is increasingly perceived as a serious problem. Bullying and other psychological attacks often lead to long-term mental impairments that have an impact on mental well-being, as strafakte.de highlights.
More police reports
A threat that occurred on Bahnhofstrasse on October 3rd is also worrying. There, a 40-year-old passer-by was threatened by a 23-year-old Romanian man who was taken into custody by the police. The officials suspect an exceptional psychological situation. Finally, on the same day there was a fire in an empty building on Kriegshaberstrasse, where the fire department quickly intervened to put out the fire.
The Munich police appeal to citizens to come forward in such situations and to keep their eyes open. “Always behave with caution and do not hesitate to contact the police in the event of an incident,” an official said. The city will remain vigilant in the coming weeks and will continue to focus on education and prevention to ensure the safety of citizens.
