Discover the hidden gem: Feldmochinger See is waiting for you!
Munich's nature has a lot to offer - and the lakes in the north of Munich are no exception! A trip to Feldmochinger See is not only an excellent way to enjoy the fresh air, but also to experience a bit of history. The Feldmochinger See, with an area of 16 hectares and up to 6 meters deep, was once a hunting ground for the Wittelsbach family and today belongs to the so-called Dreiseenplatte, together with the Lerchenauer See and the Fasaneriesee. The excellent water quality is due to three fresh water sources that feed the lake.
A circular route of around 2 kilometers invites you to explore the surrounding area. The starting point is the Fasanerie S-Bahn station, from where a picturesque walk leads to Feldmochinger Straße. Loud tz.de this takes around 40 minutes. For families with children, there is a large adventure playground on the west bank as well as a new area with wooden play equipment and a sand playground for the little ones. Wheelchair users will also find suitable play equipment.
Diverse leisure options
On the eastern shore of the lake, visitors can expect a fitness course that simply invites them to linger and do some exercise. If you get hungry, you can fortify yourself in the Seehaus Feldmoching, a Greek restaurant, or in the Andys Seehäusl kiosk. And for barbecue fans, there are special “grill zones” at the Fasaneriesee that invite you to socialize. The Fasaneriesee itself, with its flat, shallow shores, is also a popular place for families with children.
Both lakes, the Feldmochinger and the Fasaneriesee, offer a real natural biotope. On the southern bank of Lake Feldmoching there is a viewing platform and a nudist area where you can enjoy nature undisturbed. Numerous animal species such as coots, ducks and carp live here, so nature lovers will also get their money's worth.
