One year of Bergson Kunstkraftwerk: celebrating culture and partying in Munich!
A very special occasion will soon be celebrated in the Aubing district of Munich: On Friday, October 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk invites you to celebrate its one-year anniversary. The former thermal power plant, which has functioned as a cultural hotspot since opening in April 2024, has made a name for itself in just one year by offering a varied program of concerts, exhibitions and culinary offerings. Since its opening, the venue has become “Europe’s smartest concert hall” with customizable sound, allowing visitors to design and book the program themselves. What is particularly exciting is the fact that there is a new highlight on the program every day, which is always presented in a one-hour format. in-muenchen.de reports that in addition to the Bergson Orchestra, there are also varied performances by the Jazzrausch Big Band, gallery tours and comedy from the Lucky Punch Comedy Club.
The atrium provides a relaxed atmosphere, where drinks, snacks and music come along and little surprises await visitors, while the party at the end is intended to be another highlight of the evening. Tickets for the events on October 10th are already available. So if you don't want to miss this unique evening, you should get a ticket quickly.
A look into history
The roots of the Bergson artificial power plant go back to the 1920s, when the thermal power plant was originally built. Despite opening in 1940 and being briefly used by Deutsche Bahn from 1955, the industrial ruin fell into a deep sleep in the 1980s. It wasn't until 2005 that the brothers Christian and Michael Amberger brought the dilapidated ruin back to life and planned to convert the building into a cultural center. After many years of planning and renovation work, the Bergson Art Power Plant finally opened with a big event in April 2024. bergson.com provides further exciting details about the history and vision of the creative corner in Aubing.
Another aspect that underlines the importance of the Bergson Art Power Plant is the publication of the new calendar “Industrial Culture in Munich” for 2025. This calendar, published by the Industrial Culture Working Group in the Archives of the Munich Workers' Movement e. V., is intended to promote awareness of the evidence of industrial culture in the city and shows both disappeared buildings and successfully converted objects. Members of the archive can pick up the calendar free of charge and it will also be available to non-members at a price of 15 euros. arbeiterarchiv.de also lists the pickup locations.
The Bergson Art Power Plant has developed into a central point for culture and community in Munich. While the celebrations on October 10th provide a welcome opportunity to reflect and celebrate this cultural progress, many exciting events are already on the horizon that will make the Bergson a lasting magnet for culture lovers.
