A lot is currently happening in the exciting world of the Zwarte Cross festival: The well-known Dutch band Normaal has reinterpreted their classic “Hummelo” to express the carefree spirit of the festival. The song was rewritten by Keizer, a passionate fan of the original lyrics. The aim is to musically capture the feeling of love, friendship and new acquaintances that characterizes Zwarte Cross. In advance, Keizer met with Bennie Jolink, the frontman of Normaal, to get his approval for the modification. Jolink agreed and said he had nothing to add. Keizer even had the idea of incorporating Jolink into the new version, but unfortunately this wish didn't materialize. Now he is eagerly waiting for the Zwarte Cross song to be played by the Hummeloern.
Return to the stage
Another highlight is coming: Normaal will perform again at the Zwarte Cross Festival on Sunday, July 20, 2025 after a ten-year break. This proclaims Reportersonline. The band will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2024 and will also release a new album. Normaal's last concert at Zwarte Cross was in 2015. The excitement is great, especially since the festival organization announced the band's participation as a headliner back in the winter.
When tickets for the Zwarte Cross go on sale on November 23rd, the organizers are expecting a large crowd.
