Robbery at Sendlinger Tor: Perpetrator attacks men with pepper spray!

On Sunday, July 7, 2025, a profound incident occurred at the Sendlinger Tor subway station in Munich, which caused excitement not only to the two men involved, but also to the entire surrounding area. Two men, 34 and 27 years old, were surprised by an unknown perpetrator while they were taking a bag containing the proceeds from their restaurant to the bank.

The attack took a violent turn when the perpetrator sprayed pepper spray into the two men's faces and also punched one of them in the face. In the hustle and bustle, the unknown man was able to escape with several thousand euros, while the men on site received medical care from the emergency services. The perpetrator escaped in an unknown direction via the Wallstrasse staircase. Passers-by who observed the incident immediately alerted the police, who then launched an extensive search, but so far have not found any perpetrators. This is reported by the tz.

Witnesses and description of perpetrator sought

The Munich police are asking the public for help. Witnesses who made observations in the Wallstrasse area on Sunday at around 2:20 p.m. or who may have information about the perpetrator are asked to come forward. The wanted perpetrator is described as a male, between 20 and 30 years old, 180 to 190 cm tall and with a thin figure. He fled wearing a gray hoodie, dark sweatpants and a black baseball cap.

In addition to this incident, another robbery took place at the subway station in May. Young people tried to rob a peer. Two of the suspected perpetrators have now been identified. A 14-year-old student is known to be an intensive offender and is currently in custody. Accompanied by a 16-year-old and another unknown perpetrator, they tried to attack their victim on the platform until passers-by finally intervened and stopped the crime. These cases could be part of a larger problem because like the South German newspaper reported that the willingness to use violence among young people has recently increased.

Crime statistics in Munich

According to the City of Munich The police crime statistics record all crimes and offenses committed in the city, but exclude administrative offenses and traffic offenses. While the police are working intensively to solve the crimes, the suspect in this current case has not yet been caught. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop and whether the number of attacks in the city center can decrease.

The police call on all citizens to be vigilant and to report any suspicious observations immediately. A sharper eye on security in the city is required to potentially prevent such incidents in the future.
