New showroom in Munich's Ledigenheim: light meets architecture!
An exciting place opened in the heart of Munich on November 3, 2025: the new Erco and Jung showroom in the Ledigenheim, an impressive building by Theodor Fischer that has existed since 1927. Originally designed as a residence for single men, the single home still fulfills social functions today, while the showroom also serves as an innovative meeting place for lighting and architecture enthusiasts. electro.net reports that the showroom is located on the ground floor and basement of the listed building and covers approximately 450 m², which was previously used as banking rooms.
The concept of the architectural redesign comes from the architect Felicia Lehmann, who cleverly honors the character of the existing building. The original room size was restored, the walls were designed in simple white and a new terrazzo floor was laid. While the outer facade of the single home remains unchanged, the lighting in the inner courtyard has been reinterpreted. The goal is clear: architecture, light and technology should work harmoniously with one another.
An innovative approach to light and technology
The showroom presents in an exciting way how light models spaces and creates atmospheres. Style Park highlights that Erco, which specializes in architectural lighting with LED technology, and Jung, which offers versatile solutions in shading, climate, energy and building control, are presenting their comprehensive product ranges here. Particularly noteworthy are the various lighting zones, which are implemented in the Erco area under the principle of “light instead of luminaires”.
Particularly interesting is the use of the bank's former vault to showcase switches that are part of Jung's intelligent control systems. These are not only aimed at classic design, but also offer smart solutions that combine automation and living comfort.
A place for exchange and innovation
The showroom should not just serve as a sales area, but rather act as a lively forum for workshops, events and educational experiences. Deniz Turgut, Head of Marketing at Jung, emphasizes the importance of the showroom as a meeting place for architects and planners. Here they can develop and exchange innovative ideas and concepts together, while Frank Busch, Managing Director of Erco, underlines the vision of the showroom as a place for integrative planning.
In cooperation with Jab Antstoetz Acoustics, FSB and Sonos, aspects such as acoustics and sound are taken into account in addition to lighting solutions. This creates a comprehensive concept that brings together light, control and architecture in a harmonious framework and offers users a unique experience.
The Ledigenheim has established itself as a place that bridges the gap between architectural history and contemporary building technology. The new Erco and Jung showroom is more than just an exhibition; it is an inspiring space that continues to perform social missions while celebrating architectural innovation.
