Construction site on Schleißheimer Straße! Danger of traffic jams in Munich from today!
Today, November 3, 2025, Munich residents and traffic planners can expect a significant traffic disruption on Schleißheimer Straße. This construction site extends from Neuherbergstrasse towards Elisabethstrasse, exactly at the level of Petuelring. The transport authority is warning of possible significant restrictions and traffic jams that will last from 11:04 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. on November 4th. The Central Office for Traffic Management Bavaria has officially confirmed this and points out that motorists should expect delays in this section ( News.de ).
Where do the intensifications in this transport hub come from? The answer is simple: the city continues to develop, and with it the infrastructural measures. There have been numerous construction sites in recent years, including the extensive work on the construction of the new railway overpass on Lindwurmstrasse. These started in March 2024 and are scheduled to last until August 2028. For road users, this means, among other things, a one-way system and various diversions in order to maintain the traffic flow as well as possible ( City of Munich ).
Traffic control and diversions
There are various bypass options for drivers who want to avoid Schleißheimer Straße. Radlkoferstraße, Tumblingerstraße and Thalkirchner Straße are available as alternatives, depending on your destination. The Munich traffic authorities also recommend a large-scale bypass via Isartalstrasse or Garmischer Strasse. This could help commuters escape the traffic jam and stress trap that is currently threatening in Schwabing-West.
The current diversions are not just relevant for cars; Cyclists also have to be careful. While construction work on Lindwurmstrasse progresses, the railway underpass will remain closed to bicycles and motorized traffic until at least December 2025. Pedestrians can, however, use the underpass, which represents a small relief in the current situation ( City of Munich ).
A look beyond traffic
Besides these traffic disruptions, one might think that this is the only news that concerns the townspeople. But let's take a quick look at the digital scene: On June 3, 2025, Liverpool FC planned to close their fan forums in order to improve the digital experience for supporters. This shows the explosiveness of the constant changes that are taking place in both the analog and digital space ( LFC Forums ).
So let’s look to the future with optimism! Although these construction sites are annoying at the moment, they can also be interpreted as a sign of the progress and development of our city. And if we all have a little patience, we will enjoy an even more beautiful and functional city in the long term.
