After a refreshing break in the rain, summer in Munich is showing its best side again. The city is coming to life and there is a varied program for everyone staying at home to discover. From August 10th to 24th, the Olympic Park will ensure a good mood and eventful days with various events.
The Summer festival in the Olympic Park offers numerous attractions. On the weekends until August 24th, visitors can look forward to rides, discounted children's days and a wide range of catering options. An absolute highlight will be the big fireworks display on August 13th, the alternative date is August 14th. There is also a themed weekend on the program from August 15th to 17th, which has the motto “Self-made & Crafts” and presents exciting workshops and exhibitors. New this year is the Treasure Hunt on August 16th, which will be complemented by an influencer flea market. Entry costs just 5 euros.
Cultural and musical
Another highlight is this Theatron music summer, which has been taking place since 1974 and also has a colorful concert program to offer this year. From August 11th, Feierwerk will take over the line-up with a colorful mix of indie, soul, pop, rock, psychedelic, reggae and hip hop. The concerts are free and invite you to bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the musical performances directly on Lake Olympia. There will also be short film evenings on the evenings of August 11th and 12th, which are also free. Another special feature will be the Olympic Park fireworks on August 13th, which will heat up the atmosphere.
But that's not all: The fesch beer garden in Nußbaumpark invites you until September 14th to relax with a cool Augustiner and small dishes. Particularly worth mentioning are the free concerts that take place every Thursday from 7 p.m.
Family and children's program

On August 16th, the Hofflohmarkt will take place in Hasenbergl and Am Hart from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by the Hans Sachs Street Festival, which will entertain visitors from 2 p.m. Another fascinating event is the DroneArt show on August 15th and 16th at 9 p.m., which combines live music with a spectacular drone ballet.
The exhibitions in Munich are also worth a visit. “Body Worlds” in the Small Olympic Hall and the augmented reality experience “The Legend of the Titanic” in Pineapple Park promise exciting insights.
