Winterworld Motorworld: Munich’s Christmas magic starts now!

Yesterday, November 7th, 2025, the Winterworld Motorworld in Munich-Freimann opened its doors. This new festival promises a unique, pre-Christmas atmosphere with a nostalgic charm that will captivate young and old alike. Until December 28, 2025, you can not only enjoy the pre-Christmas atmosphere here, but also experience culinary highlights and an exciting supporting program that will make everyone's heart beat faster.

Winterworld has a wide range of offerings: over 30 stands await visitors, many of them from local providers from Munich. These also include gastronomic delicacies such as mulled wine, punch, cocktails, fries, bratwurst, crepes, and the popular Baumstriezel. New features include Kevin Schramm's flamed salmon stand and an American hut serving smash burgers and lemonade.

Unique attractions for young and old

The special highlights include the Motorworld carousel revolving bar, a mulled wine stand that stands right next to the Ferris wheel, and the largest Christmas pyramid in Munich, which is an impressive 16.5 meters high. For younger guests there is a children's railway and a special children's day every week with reduced fares.

The supporting program is also impressive: artists, DJ evenings and brass music create a festive atmosphere. The cozy huts are particularly cozy, where you can enjoy a cup of mulled wine. There is even a Christmas workshop set up for children, where Santa Claus visits every day.

Opening times and directions

Winterworld Motorworld is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., while visitors are welcomed on Friday and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and on Sundays and public holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Mondays are a rest day. The Christmas market is closed on certain holidays such as Remembrance Day and Christmas Eve.

The Motorworld Munich parking garage is available for arrival, and subway line 6 takes guests directly to the Freimann stop.

Munich offers many more markets and events this Christmas season. In addition to Winterworld, there is the traditional Christmas market at Marienplatz, which takes place from November 24th to December 24th, 2025, as well as numerous other Christmas markets in the various districts, ranging from food and drink to live music and handmade gifts.

If you're up for a Christmas adventure, you can also look forward to the ice magic at Karlsplatz-Stachus, where the largest mobile ice skating rink in Bavaria is available, or visit the pink Christmas market in Stephansplatz, which is particularly aimed at the LGBTIQ* community.
