The residents of Ismaning and the commuters who travel between Garching and Haar every day should prepare for some traffic challenges in the coming weeks. From July 17, 2025 to August 10, 2025, the B471 will be completely closed as part of necessary roadway renovations. This construction project affects the section from Garching towards Haar and vice versa, between Neufinsing and M3. But that's not all: the Municipality of Ismaning has also published details about the upcoming renovation of the B471. The work will begin on June 30, 2025 and will last several weeks. The first construction phase includes the Krautgartenstrasse junction and is expected to end after two weeks with traffic from the north being opened. The entire road surface between Krautgartenstrasse and State Road 2340 will be removed and replaced. During the work, the route to the south will remain closed throughout the construction period, while traffic from the north to this junction can also move in the opposite direction.
Detours and traffic information
The upcoming diversions are already being planned. Drivers from Aschheim to the AS B471/B388 must be prepared for a diversion via the B471, St 2340, St 2088, M13 to Unterföhring and back. A clear diversion route via these roads will also be set up for the connection between Aschheim and Garching. It is advisable to find out about the current traffic situation in advance. A positive aspect of these measures is that the cycle path along the B471 remains usable throughout the renovation work. It is therefore still possible for cyclists to get around safely during this time, although certain restrictions must be observed.
