In the Munich district of Neuperlach, the new Alexisquartier takes on shapes. Today the foundation stone was laid for an ambitious residential project, which should offer more than just four walls. The heating and hot water supply takes place via a district heating system, which is an environmentally friendly and economical solution. The investment costs amount to impressive 142 million euros, which underlines the importance of the project for the city of Munich.

As reports municipal, plans to significantly increase the number of rental apartments. The aim is to design 80% of all new apartments as rental apartments in order to create affordable housing for the large number of moves to Munich.

growing population, increasing demand

Munich faces the challenge of keeping a forecast of 300,000 immigration step in the next ten years. Around 65% of Munich currently live for rent. In view of the rising rents and the price rises that have been constant since the 1990s, the creation of living space, in particular of price -driven rental apartments, is of central importance.

The Alexisquartier will not only offer new apartments, but also create attractive infrastructure such as parking spaces, shopping and daycare centers. Hopefully the positive development in Munich residential construction will continue to stop in order to be able to meet the needs of the population.

The cornerstone for the Alexisquartier not only marks the beginning of a new residential project, but also a small step towards a solution to the urgent housing shortage in Munich.
