Hallescher FC breaks negative streak: Damelang secures victory!

On the 11th matchday of the Regionalliga Nordost, Halleschen FC achieved a hard-fought victory against ZFC Meuselwitz. In front of 5,127 spectators at the LEUNA-CHEMIE-STADION, everything seemed to start off nerve-wracking for the Halle team. After a mixed first half in which HFC had problems in the final third, coach Torsten Ziegner's team developed more control over the game.

What happened in the second half was particularly exciting. In the 59th minute it was Julien Damelang who scored the decisive goal. The 22-year-old has proven to be a real asset since moving to Halleschen FC on July 1, 2025, as he has already received praise in various positions as a right winger and in midfield. Damelang, who previously received his football training at Union Berlin, Hertha Zehlendorf and RSV Eintracht, uses his speed and technique to surprise the opposing defense.

A game full of challenges

But the path to this goal was marked by challenges. Initially, Ziegner's team showed a certain nervousness. A number of opportunities, including opportunities from Damelang and Hartmann, remained unused. Meuselwitz tried to become dangerous through quick switching actions. A free kick from Andy Trübenbach, which narrowly missed the goal, also caused excitement.

After the opening goal, Meuselwitz pushed for the equalizer, especially after captain Niklas Landgraf was shown yellow-red in the 75th minute and had to leave the field. But the HFC withstood the pressure and was ultimately able to defend their narrow lead. The victory was a liberation for the team and ended a series of four games without a win, which is certainly what they want before the next important game in the State Cup round of 16 against Kemberg next Sunday.

The situation in the Northeast Regional League

With this success, Hallesche FC has improved in the table and shows that it wants to get back on the road to success. The statistics from the Regionalliga Nordost show that such victories are crucial for morale and team structure. It will be interesting to see whether the HFC can implement this improvement in the upcoming state cup game.

For anyone who would like to find out more about Julien Damelang, the Transfermarkt platform offers interesting insights into the career of the player, who has a contract with HFC until June 30, 2027.

The next few weeks promise to be exciting for Halleschen FC and its fans. Stay tuned for more updates from the regional league!
