Tree Alliance invites you: conversations and nature conservation on the Kö!

A festival for nature will take place next Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Königsplatz in Augsburg. The Baum-Allianz Augsburg invites you to an information stand from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Directly in front of the REWE market, visitors have the opportunity to talk to Allianz activists and find out about current topics. Among other things, the planned four-row avenue on Fuggerstrasse and the preservation of the park at the university hospital are on the agenda. However, if the weather doesn't cooperate, the information stand will unfortunately have to be cancelled. But the omens are good: sunny 27 degrees are forecast for Saturday, perfect conditions for meeting like-minded people!

But the information stand is not the only event organized by the Tree Alliance. On the same day, today, an exciting lecture entitled “The silent death of nature – How we save biodiversity and ourselves” will take place in the Augsburg city library from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The speaker is none other than Prof. Dr. Matthias Glaubrecht, a renowned evolutionary biologist, who critically examines the problem of the decline in biodiversity and its effects on our livelihoods. It will be accompanied by a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Harald Kunstmann, head of the Center for Climate Resilience at the University of Augsburg, added.

Important topics of the event

Prof. Glaubrecht will criticize, among other things, the insufficient attention to nature reserves and incorrect priorities in science and politics. He emphasizes the need to protect and renaturate larger areas in order to preserve communities. For those who want to deepen their knowledge of this, the lecture is an absolute must. The entry price is 10.00 euros - the tree alliance will even cover the costs for the first five registrations. Those interested can contact by email info@baumallianz-augsburg.de Register for a free ticket, which must be picked up at the box office by 6:45 p.m. Tickets that are not collected will then be put on sale.

A call for collaboration

The Tree Alliance is not only committed to preserving nature, but is also actively working to raise awareness of the importance of the environment. With valuable information and an open ear, they support citizens to find solutions together. A great thing that shows that each of us can make a contribution to preserving the green spaces in Augsburg and securing the habitat for many species.
