On Glockenblumenstrasse in Lerchenau there is a house that is better known as the “Horror House”. This burnt-out ruin has been causing a stir since the terrible incident in October and is now for sale. The dramatic events surrounding the building, which was in danger of collapsing, where craftsman Martin P. killed his 90-year-old father and took his own life on a tragic night, not only shocked the neighborhood, but also put the family behind the house in a desperate situation.
After the terrible incident in which Martin P. also injured his mother and daughter, the building became a burden. The family has now commissioned an architect friend to sell the 740 square meter property. The €1.745 million offer includes demolition costs of €117,000 and the listing has already disappeared from real estate websites. However, a real estate agent confirmed that a serious interested party is already in talks with the owner. The quicker the sale occurs, the sooner the family can put a stop to it and move on with life.
The tragedy and its consequences
The violent act was preceded by a threat to bomb the Oktoberfest, which led to an enormous security effort. These tragic events left a gaping wound in the vibrant Munich community. While the mother and daughter were able to escape the fire despite injuries, the father died in a room of the house. The survivors have now left the property and are trying to deal with the trauma.
