Three friends master 480 km: Munich bike adventure to Venice!

Crunchy 480 kilometers, more than 3500 meters of altitude and the whole within 24 hours - these are the cornerstones of the adventurous tour of three friends, which one at night, from a beer mood, decided to go from Munich to Venice. Maurice Mack (26), Dominik Fey (32) and Dominik Bobinger (34) faced this challenge and started on the night of May 23 from the Munich Marienplatz.

The route led the three athletes across picturesque landscapes, including Tegernsee, Achensee and Innsbruck. But the journey was not only scenic, but also represented a massive mental challenge, especially in the first section, which was characterized by heavy rainfall. When they arrived in Innsbruck, they had to treat themselves to a short breather after the tricky climb over the old Brennerstrasse. A clash with their own limits came from the 300-kilometer mark in Trento: The energy supply was filled here.

The requirements of the tour

The three friends had packed some essential things for the tour. In addition to saddlebags with energy bars and Haribo rubbish, electrolytes were a must. "The biggest challenge was the mental struggle," said Fey afterwards. They felt physically after arriving in the lagoon city of Venice, in the middle of the night, but okay. After almost 24 hours drive it was said: Brush your teeth, shower and then catch up with well -deserved sleep. On Saturday and Sunday they treated themselves to a little rest and relaxation in Venice.

The entire tour once again shows how popular the route from Munich to Venice is for racing cyclists. In addition to the sporting challenge, the breathtaking landscapes are not neglected.
