Manuel Neuer: Goalkeeping legend enjoys life at Tegernsee!

Manuel Neuer, the record goalkeeper and a real veteran of German football, has now ushered in a new phase in his life. At the age of 38, he ended his career in the national soccer team and concentrated on his key tasks at FC Bayern Munich. Neuer, best known for his exceptional sweeper-keeper style of play, will only be in goal for Bayern, where he has already enjoyed impressive success, including 11 Bundesliga titles and two UEFA Champions League trophies.

Neuer began his sporting career at FC Schalke 04, where he quickly developed into captain and ultimately one of the best goalkeepers in football history. Over the years, Neuer has received numerous awards, including being named Best Goalkeeper of the Decade from 2011 to 2020 by the IFFHS. He also holds records for the most clean sheets in the Bundesliga and has been named the best European goalkeeper on several occasions.

Idyll at Tegernsee

But Neuer has also found happiness off the pitch. His retreat is on the picturesque Tegernsee, about 75 minutes south of Munich. The charming town of Tegernsee with around 3,700 inhabitants offers him the perfect backdrop to relax and enjoy nature. In his stylish three-story country house-style villa on Tegernsee's Leeberg, Neuer can enjoy the wonderful view of the Bavarian Oberland. The large terrace and the small lawn invite you to spend time outdoors.

Neuer has settled in very well since moving from his city villa in Bogenhausen in 2016. He regularly uses the grass area for goalkeeping training, and even during the corona pandemic he worked on his game with his coach Toni Tapalovic. With this commitment, he shows that he not only values success on the pitch, but also wants to constantly improve his skills.

A life full of passion

Neuer is not only active in sports, but also enjoys the leisurely side of life in Bavaria. The plan is to stop off occasionally in one of the inviting Bavarian beer gardens. He's taken by the Bavarian culture, the mountains and the idyllic nature - there's something there! He has around 12.9 million followers on Instagram who can enjoy videos of his training sessions and insights into his life.

His more recent personal milestones include the birth of his son Luca in March 2024 with his second wife Anika Bissel. Neuer also did not neglect his social commitment. With the Emmanuel Neuer Kids Foundation, he campaigns against child poverty and has raised awareness against skin cancer after undergoing several operations.

Manuel Neuer remains not only in football, but also in the hearts of the people who support him. After returning to the field after a long injury break, everyone felt that this exceptional goalkeeper would continue to play an important role in football. All of football has missed him and fans will be keen to see what he has in store next.
