The football scene in the region is currently dominated by the start of the season in the Southeast Regional League. The new season began last weekend and the teams prepared to fight for their first points in the table. The match itself was intense, with temperatures around 29 degrees and over 300 spectators gathered in the stadium. Referee Fridolin Hiefner gave a total of seven warnings, including the first yellow card for Georg Kutter after just 42 seconds. However, Freilassing was able to rely primarily on the performance of goalkeeper Thomas Unterhuber, who fended off some of Murnauer's dangerous chances.
A look forward
ESV Freilassing's next game is scheduled for July 22nd, against TSV Kastl, who also lost at the start. Freilassing is challenged to get on track as quickly as possible and collect the first points.
