Drama in the Max Aicher Stadium: Murnau defeats Freilassing 4:2!
The football scene in the region is currently dominated by the start of the season in the Southeast Regional League. The new season began last weekend and the teams prepared to fight for their first points in the table. The duel between TSV Murnau and ESV Freilassing, which took place in the Max Aicher Stadium, was particularly exciting. According to information from Fupa The game ended 4-2 for Murnau.
In Freilassing, the encounter started anything but badly. Georg Kutter gave Murnau the lead in the 27th minute (0-1), but ESV coach Albert Deiter's team was not discouraged and equalized to 1-1 in the 45th minute through Mark Kremer. This equalizer gave the Freilassingers a boost before the break, but after the break it was Kutter who put the Murnauer team back in the lead with a penalty (1:2).
Drama until the last minute
The team from Freilassing didn't give up and managed to equalize again in the 74th minute through Timo Portenkirchner (2:2). But Murnau had the last word: In the 84th minute, Murat Höbekkaya made it 2:3, giving Murnau the upper hand. The last goal came in the 89th minute when Höbekkaya struck again and made the final score 2-4. The goal came in a controversial manner from an offside position. Freilassing had to cope with a bitter zero at the start, like BGland24 reported.
The match itself was intense, with temperatures around 29 degrees and over 300 spectators gathered in the stadium. Referee Fridolin Hiefner gave a total of seven warnings, including the first yellow card for Georg Kutter after just 42 seconds. However, Freilassing was able to rely primarily on the performance of goalkeeper Thomas Unterhuber, who fended off some of Murnauer's dangerous chances.
A look forward
ESV Freilassing's next game is scheduled for July 22nd, against TSV Kastl, who also lost at the start. Freilassing is challenged to get on track as quickly as possible and collect the first points.
