Denklingen in the fight for survival: Ried is out, Ansorge goes!

In the South District League, VfL Denklingen is deep in the relegation battle. After a sobering start to the season with 12 points from 15 games, coach Christoph Schmitt sees an urgent need for action. The offensive is weakening massively, which is why a win in the upcoming game against TSV Geiselbullach is urgently needed in order to maintain motivation and improve the current situation. “We can’t sit back,” Schmitt made it clear and emphasized the importance of the remaining three games of the year.

However, the defense could breathe a sigh of relief because Michael Stahl is returning after a suspension and bringing a breath of fresh air into the team. However, the question remains as to how the problems in attack can be solved after top scorer Simon Ried is out with a serious shoulder injury. Ried suffered a serious injury during an ice hockey game for EV Lengenfeld, which put him out of action for a long time. Markus Ansorge, the VfL coach, explained that Ried has now had an operation and hopes to return in the final stages of the season. His loss is a hard blow for the team, as Ried was not only VfL's most successful player with 15 goals in 18 games, but also the second best goalscorer in the league. “It’s unfortunate that we have to do without him like this,” said Ried, who also regrets Ansorge’s departure after the separation was decided at the end of the season.

Kyc sensitivities in the team

VfL's balance sheet shows a catastrophic first half of the season; just 12 goals in 15 games is alarming. “We need at least 9 points from the coming games to improve our situation before the winter break,” Schmitt continued. The next challenges are TSV Geiselbullach, the last one in Wolfratshausen and SV Untermenzing. “To avoid relegation we need to get at least 28 points in the remaining 15 games,” the coach added.

The committed club management and fans are also concerned about the sporting situation. The sad truth is that the past few years, in which they showed excellent performances under Ansorge's leadership, are now in the shadow of the bottom of the table.

A look ahead to the coming year

In order to turn things around, creative offensive solutions are required. Coach Schmitt is aware of the problems and knows that finding another striker is now the top priority. After a span of four seasons in the district league, new impulses are needed to nourish the hope of staying in the league. Any help to improve the offensive is now valuable in order to get out of the current misery and meet your own demands.

However, it remains to be seen how strong VfL Denklingen will be against the remaining season. An outlook on the coming weeks promises excitement, after all, the winter break is just around the corner - and time is of the essence.
