Bauma Munich conquers Saudi Arabia: start for international growth!
The “Bauma” in Munich, known for its impressive cranes at the exhibition center in Riem, is once again causing a stir. Even though the world's largest construction machinery trade fair takes place continuously in Munich, an offshoot will now see the light of day in Saudi Arabia. According to the plans, “Bauma Saudi Arabia” will be held in Riyadh by 2027, which underlines the good cooperation between Messe München and the local partner Dmg Events. This cooperation was recently sealed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Loud Evening newspaper The new trade fair gives this growth market in the Middle East additional momentum.
Bauma is not an insignificant event for Saudi Arabia. The country's construction sector is expected to reach a volume of around 130 billion euros by 2030. The need for construction machinery, vehicles and mining equipment is enormous because the country relies heavily on imported goods. This creates special opportunities and offers ideal conditions for Bauma, which brings together international providers with investors and decision-makers. The event will take place at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center and promises to be a highlight in the international trade fair landscape.
International expansion and growth
Messe München is determined to further expand its international presence and at the same time strengthen Munich as a trade fair location. The current turnover of the trade fair amounts to 488 million euros, with around 34 percent coming from abroad, reports Munich Trade Fair. In addition to Bauma, the fair also plans to spread its events, such as “Ifat”, which will also take place in Saudi Arabia.
Bauma will continue to be held in Munich every three years, with the next date already set for April 3rd to 9th, 2028. With over 150 events annually and around 50,000 exhibitors, the Munich Trade Fair attracts up to three million visitors every year. This confirms the high market position and industry expertise of the trade fair in the world of construction machinery.
In summary, Bauma's upcoming expansion into the Saudi market makes it clear that Messe München is not only the home trade fair par excellence, but also wants to become a central player in the international trade fair network. The course has been set to show that Bauma is not just an event, but also a platform for future-oriented business opportunities.
