Munich in a cup frenzy: District league teams surprise in the round of 16!

In Munich, the amateur football teams are back in the spotlight because there is a lot of fighting going on in the district cup! FC Fürstenried caused a sensation because they impressively knocked their opponents TSV Turnerbund, DJK Pasing and the Münchner Kickers out of the competition. In this way, the district league teams show that they are ready to stand up to the big teams. The current cup duels are a real treat for all football fans in the region and ensure exciting clashes.

Next Saturday there will be five floodlit games in Upper Bavaria, including the exciting clash between Neuhadern and Akgüney Spor on the agenda. Here everyone has a chance to follow in the footsteps of the successful teams that have already qualified for the quarter-finals, including SV München West, SV Untermenzing, Nord München-Lerchenau and Eintracht Karlsfeld. But the two district league teams also have the best cards when they play against the district league teams.

A look at the results so far

The district cup will not only be held in Munich, the final participants are also already in the race in the Inn/Salzach area and in the Zugspitze. A highlight is the last round of 16, which will take place between Feldmoching and Alemannia on October 15th. The excitement increases as the district winners qualify for the main round of the Toto Cup. The tournament is already helping to determine the best teams in Upper Bavaria.

Things are also going hot in the other districts: TSV 1863 Kirchheim secured their place in the final in the Allgäu district by beating district league team FC Thalhofen in a penalty shootout. Goalkeeper Patrick Reichhart became the hero of the day by saving two penalties and thus contributed significantly to his team's victory. The game ended 4-2 after penalties and Luca Csauth's decisive goal should also be highlighted.

The top games in the region

The enthusiasm for amateur football in Bavaria is unbroken. Just a few days earlier, TSV Ziemetshausen triumphed over FC Maihingen with a narrow 3-2. Will the next duel between FC Dingolfing and TSV Langquaid add to the excitement? Dingolfing managed to win 2-1 and thus celebrate revenge for the defeat the previous year.

In Aschaffenburg, DJK Hain achieved another win with a clear 3-0 win against BSC Aschaffenburg-Schweinheim and showed that there is also a lot of potential in the region. Such games underline the passion of the amateur players and the loyalty of the fans to their home clubs.
