Politically motivated graffiti: Witnesses wanted in Thalkirchen!

In the last few days there have been several incidents in Munich that concern both the police and the public. The politically motivated graffiti in Thalkirchen, which was discovered last weekend, particularly stands out.

On July 4th, between 7:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., unknown perpetrators vandalized the facade of a building on Koppstrasse with black smears. The content of the graffiti refers to the current situation in the Middle East and sheds light on the political views of the perpetrators. The material damage amounts to several hundred euros. Commissariat 43 of the Munich criminal police has taken over the investigation and is sending an appeal to the population: Anyone who has observed anything suspicious in the area of ​​Koppstrasse, Sankt-Wendel-Strasse and Siemensallee should please come forward. Loud Bavaria Police The police were also confronted with a similar incident in Regensburg, where politically motivated graffiti was also discovered.

Fraud and assault arrests

On July 7th, another incident was registered in Bogenhausen, which kept the police on their toes. A 58-year-old woman received a call from a perpetrator who posed as a police officer and asked her about her valuables. Thanks to the quick reaction of her daughter, who informed the police, civilian officers were able to arrest two suspects on July 8th: a 20-year-old and a 15-year-old, both from North Rhine-Westphalia. They are now in custody because an investigation into attempted fraud has been initiated.

Only a short time later, on July 9th, an assault offense occurred in Obergiesing. Here, a 46-year-old injured a 25-year-old with a knife, which led to an emergency call and rapid police intervention. When arrested, the suspect resisted and was ultimately taken to a psychiatric facility. The investigation into dangerous bodily harm is ongoing.

Burglary and anniversary of the police station

There was also a break-in in Ismaning on the night of July 6th, in which several people stole jewelry worth tens of thousands of euros. A witness reported the burglar alarm while the perpetrators were already fleeing. During the course of the search, three people were checked in Bogenhausen and a 36-year-old and two Romanians were arrested. Burglary tools were also seized here.

As a small ray of hope in these turbulent days: Police Station 11 in Munich is celebrating its 100th anniversary on July 19th with a ceremony and an open day. Bavaria's Interior Minister and Munich's Mayor will be present from 10:00 a.m. Children and adults can look forward to guided tours, lectures and hands-on activities. The ceremony is open to media representatives.
