Attention music lovers! The Dark Easter Metal Meeting 2026 is just around the corner. It will take place on April 4th and 5th, 2026 at Munich's Backstage, a hotspot for alternative music in the city. The festival, which specializes in the heaviest sounds of black, death and doom metal, has established itself as one of the most important metal events in Germany since its founding in 2012 and attracts an international audience.
This year fans can look forward to an impressive line-up. The first confirmed bands include BLACKBRAID, FIRESPAWN, KOLDBRANN, KYI, PONTE DEL DIAVOLO, SCHAMMASCH, SECRETS OF THE MOON, TODOMAL and TRIPTYKON. What is particularly interesting is that TODOMAL will play their first concert in Germany and KYI will celebrate their live debut. FIRESPAWN will also be on stage in memory of the late LG Petrov. KOLDBRANN is celebrating its 25th anniversary and SCHAMMASCH will offer a special set for the 20th anniversary of their album “Antithesis”.
Tickets and arrival
Anyone who would like to secure their tickets can purchase them from October 1, 2025 via platforms such as Backstage Tickets, Eventim and München Ticket. Please note that only 2-day tickets will be available. With limited parking options, we recommend planning your journey by public transport. The SBHF “HIRSCHGARTEN” as well as several bus and tram lines take visitors directly to the event location.
The festival is characterized not only by its unusual selection of bands, but also by a family atmosphere and good mood. The event has enjoyed steady growth in recent years - from an original 400 visitors in 2012, the number of participants increased to over 1,600 in the last editions. The location, with food and drink stands as well as a cloakroom, ensures that fans don't miss anything. And even if the atmosphere is rocky and loud, the organization ensures that everything runs smoothly.
Commitment against extremism
An important concern of the festival is the clear distancing from political extremism, especially right-wing extremism and neo-Nazism. Anti-constitutional gestures and symbols lead to immediate exclusion from the event. The Dark Easter Metal Meeting sets a strong example for tolerance and diversity in the music scene.
The event promises not only musical highlights, but also a clear message for the community. With 32 international, national and local bands, the festival in its eleventh edition offers a varied program that leaves nothing to be desired.
