Audi killer in court: Drama about deadly drug deal in Munich!
In the summer of 2024, a tragic incident changed the Munich district of Milbertshofen and still raises questions today. A drug deal ended fatally when 24-year-old Deniz Z. was shot in a failed deal. The alleged perpetrator, 21-year-old Ihab L., is now on trial as a result of these events Picture reported.
The fatal events took place on June 3, 2024, when the two men met for a fake meeting to hand over three kilos of cannabis for 15,000 euros. But behind the supposed business dealings there was a dangerous intention: According to the prosecution, Ihab L. planned from the start to grab the marijuana without paying. At the meeting there was a scuffle during which Deniz Z. injured Ihab L. in the thigh. In the ensuing confrontation, L. pulled out a pistol and shot Z., who succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
The verdict is still pending
After the crime, Ihab L. fled undetected in an Audi A3, which was found five days later in Munich - traces of blood inside gave the police valuable information. Almost three weeks after the incident, L. was caught in Weinheim (Baden-Württemberg). In the current trial, he admitted to shooting, but claimed that he had acted in self-defense. While the defense presented an alternative version that Deniz Z. wanted to “strip” him, the prosecution is convinced that the marijuana was sold and L. therefore received his share. The verdict is expected in early August 2025.
But it's not just this case that has its effects. Drug crime remains a burning issue in Munich and throughout Germany. In 2023, approximately 347,000 drug crime cases were recorded by the police, representing an increase of 2 percent compared to the previous year. The focus is particularly on cases involving cannabis, which has been partially legal since April 1, 2024. Nevertheless, illegal trafficking remains high and the number of drug deaths is rising. Loud Statista Germany recorded around 2,230 drug deaths in 2023, most of whom died from the long-term damage caused by their use.
Big cannabis business
Coincidentally, the Milbertshofen verdict is drawing attention to other drug crimes in the region. A well-known case concerns Joel A., who is also connected to drug deals. He was charged with armed cannabis trafficking in June 2022. This incident also shows how deeply rooted drug crime is in the Munich scene. In this particular case, Joel A. is even said to have organized the escape of the suspected shooter.
Drug crime therefore remains a major problem that not only affects entire districts like Milbertshofen, but also has far-reaching social consequences. All those affected must be aware of this as the justice system attempts to restore order.
