Drug use among young people: Lecture on safety in traffic

There will soon be an important information afternoon in Bad Harzburg, where everything will revolve around an explosive topic: drug use among young people and the resulting consequences in traffic. On Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, the prevention network HaLT (Hart am LimiT) invites you to this event under the title "The main thing is that it shoots! - High or tricky - YOUR support counts!" a.

From 4:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. there will be a discussion in Bündheim Castle about how dangerous the consumption of cannabis and other drugs can be for young road users. It should not be underestimated that the risks of drug-influenced driving behavior can lead to the revocation of your driving license. Experts will be on hand to explain these important points and discuss preventive measures to better protect young people.

Important topics and contributions

The event is aimed not only at young people, but also at parents and teachers who play a key role in addiction prevention. Particularly noteworthy is a special lecture by Dipl.-Psych. Sylvia Berghoff from the advice center for parents, children and young people in the Goslar district. She will speak on the topic “Is Love Everything? — Attachment and Emotions Related to Addiction” from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.

The focus on the dangers of consumption and the need for good communication between young people and their caregivers shows how serious the organizers are. The HaLT initiative is considered one of the largest municipal alcohol prevention programs in Germany and aims to provide early information about the risks of alcohol consumption.

Strong together for the youth

The implementation of these important topics in the Goslar district is carried out by various actors, including the youth and drug advice center, the Lukas Werk, and the prevention team of the Goslar police station. A promising network has emerged here that puts the empowerment and protection of young people at the top of the agenda.

Even if the event seems regional at first glance, it has an impact that extends far beyond Bad Harzburg. So when parents, teachers and interested parties come together, not only does something happen in a city, but a strong message is sent against drug use.

It remains to be hoped that many people will take part, not only to acquire knowledge, but also to make an active contribution to addiction prevention. The invitation is open to everyone — the more people get involved, the better the dialogue around these challenges can be promoted.
