New mega restaurant on Lenbachplatz: 794 Jidai and Yakuza are opening soon!”

Something is happening in downtown Munich! A completely new gastronomy project is being built at Lenbachplatz, which will delight both gourmets and night owls. Operator Mathias Scheffel, known for his numerous Munich restaurants, has big plans for his latest concept “794 Jidai”. The name is a homage to the year 794 AD, which is considered the beginning of Japanese advanced culture. This combines tradition with modern flair.

The project is being realized on an area of around 1,500 square meters and includes a restaurant, an event location and the already opened night snack bar “Yakuza”. This offers Asian street food classics from Thursday to Saturday. The menu is impressive: Gyoza is available for 2 euros, while noodle and rice boxes with chicken are available for 8.90 euros. This means you can feast late into the night in a relaxed atmosphere.

The culinary highlights of 794 Jidai

The restaurant itself, which is scheduled to open in December 2023, promises top-class pan-Asian cuisine. Scheffel is supported by Giang Ninh, an experienced restaurateur with two existing restaurants. Prices start at around 25 euros per main course, with the aim being special omakase-style sushi creations. Here, guests are cooked directly by sushi masters, which promises a truly unique experience.

But that's not all: To further heat up the atmosphere, a DJ will be playing from 11 p.m. The club operations under the old name “Enter the Dragon” are being discontinued; instead, they want a lively event location.

A breath of fresh air for Munich's nightlife

The new concept at Lenbachplatz should give Munich's nightlife a breath of fresh air. The Yakuza diner has already come to life and attracts night owls who want to enjoy the night while eating and drinking. The opening of the main restaurant on December 6, 2023 is a date that you should mark in your calendar.

With a creative mix of traditional fluidity and modern lifestyle, “794 Jidai” will not only be a meeting place, but also foster cultural exchange. The Munich gastronomy scene can look forward to an exciting chapter!
