Munich celebrates the weekend: CSD, art festival and 90s party!
An exciting weekend awaits Munich! On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the city will once again be the scene of a variety of festivities that will leave no heart untouched. Under the dazzling symbol of Christopher Street Day (CSD), the state capital will be transformed into a colorful celebration of diversity. The CSD parade, which commemorates the legendary Stonewall disaster of 1969, sends a strong signal for equality and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community, especially in these times. The motto of this year's CSD couldn't be more appropriate, because it's about freedom and togetherness, which will be felt everywhere in the city.
But the CSD is not the only attraction. On the same weekend, the Kunstarealfest in Maxvorstadt invites all culture enthusiasts to experience the diversity of art up close. A colorful program awaits visitors under the motto “Freedom”: from concerts to workshops and discussions, there is something for every taste. The central focal point, Pavilion 333 between the Pinakothek der Moderne and the Türkentor, will be the centerpiece of the festival, which will take place from June 28th to 29th. Entry to the museums is free and there is also culinary delights: street food, refreshing drinks and comfortable lounge chairs invite you to linger. The Kunstarealfest is an ideal opportunity to enjoy art and culture in a relaxed atmosphere.
Cultural highlights and holiday joys
For all sports enthusiasts, the Munich Mash will take place at the same time in the Olympic Park. Action-packed skateboarding, wakeboarding and BMX competitions are just part of the big spectacle, as the Mash Fest also offers live music, art and a variety of food trucks that round off the culinary offerings. On both days, June 28th and 29th, the park will be open for an exciting program from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Families can look forward to the summer festival at Schwabinger Tor, which not only features grilled delicacies and refreshing cocktails, but also live music and entertainment for young and old. The festival opens on Saturday, June 28th between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Another highlight is the “90s Super Show XXL” on Königsplatz, where old friends like Caught in the Act, Lou Bega and Dr. Alban will initially rock the stage with their hits on Saturday.

On Sunday there is also the summer festival in the HochX Theater, where the youngest guests will be enchanted with the KuckuX reading series and exciting live music. From 3 p.m. you can also get top-class street food here.
