Creative departure: Super BOOKS 6 in Munich delights art lovers!

It opens on Saturday, October 25, 2025House of Artin Munich once again his goals for the creative scene. The Super BOOKS 6 is the sixth edition of the independent fair dedicated entirely to artists' books. From 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., around 70 national and international artists, designers, publishers and institutions will present their latest productions.

What makes Super BOOKS so special? The focus is on publications that think beyond the traditional book medium. A central theme is thatEthics of accessibilityin pricing and direct sales. The event offers a great opportunity to learn about alternative publishing methods that act as a counterweight to the conventional publishing market.

Diverse program for everyone

Visitors can look forward to a varied program: book presentations, workshops for all age groups, exciting lectures, performances and sound events are on the agenda. These formats promote mutual exchange and engagement with the various facets of artistic practices.

The Super BOOKS is organized in collaboration with several renowned institutions, including theAAP Archive Artist Publications, the Bavarian State Library, the Academy of Fine Arts Munich and the Kassel School of Art. The event is curated by Sabine Brantl, Hubert Kretschmer and Lilian Landes, who are committed to ensuring that the trade fair is a complete success.

Review of the past event

The Munich art scene experienced this from November 2nd to 3rd, 2024 Super BOOKS 5. Almost 70 artists, designers and alternative publishers took part in this fifth edition. The large number of events and participants attracted many visitors and illuminated the ethical demands of the publications in a comprehensive context.

Last year impressively demonstrated how important such events are for networking in the art scene. The live broadcast of the non-commercial Munich radio station Radio 80000 took the opportunity to make the content accessible to a larger audience.

The development ofGreat BOOKSSince its founding in 2019 as part of the exhibition “Archives in Residence: AAP Archive Artist Publications” it has become an important forum for the independent art publishing landscape, which everyone involved has been able to experience up close.
