Königsplatz is becoming a concert hotspot: plan for 2026!

Anyone who wants to rock on Munich's Königsplatz in the coming days has reason to be happy! Königsplatz, a well-known open-air event area, will be used even more frequently for bouncer concert events in the future. Merkur reports that the city council has passed a framework resolution that allows four concert weekends per year in years without an International Motor Show (IAA). Some well-known artists are already being discussed for 2026, including Apache 207 and Paul Kalkbrenner, who will each give two concerts. And the best thing: two additional concerts are even possible this year! Nick Cave may also venture onto the stage next year.

Planning is in full swing, but official confirmation of the artists remains under wraps, the Munich District Administration Department (KVR) confirmed. The upswing for the Königsplatz is obvious, because the first open-air concerts this year are in line with the trend: Mötley Crüe & Def Leppard and Peter Gabriel already created a great atmosphere in May. Fans can look forward to further highlights.
