HSG Heidmark men celebrate: First win after six defeats!

HSG Heidmark can finally celebrate! In an exciting game last weekend, the men achieved their first win of the season. They defeated TuS Rotenburg 30:27, ending a long losing streak of six defeats. Coach Thorsten Lippert expressed his relief at the success and emphasized that the team had built up a comfortable six-goal lead with a strong performance in the first half.

However, the lead was carelessly squandered between the 40th and 50th minutes, as a weak phase ensured that the gap narrowed to just one goal. But the HSG men were undeterred and ultimately secured their first victory and thus a valuable tailwind. With this performance they are now in the penultimate place in the table with 3:11 points, but have not lost touch with the lower midfield.

Next challenges

There is great anticipation for the next home game against HSG Rhumetal, who occupy sixth place in the table. The HSG must continue to work on its consistency in order to gain a foothold in the league. The opportunity to collect more points gives the players and the coaching staff additional motivation.

However, things are not going well for the ladies at HSG Heidmark. After a strong start to the season with 10-0 points, they suffered a defeat in the first game against Northeimer HC. Their 19:23 was considered disappointing by coach Christian Eggers, who emphasized his team's decent performance despite personnel problems. With only three backcourt players available, they fought bravely, but were unable to reward their efforts. What was particularly annoying were the numerous technical errors and the poor conversion of chances, including four missed seven-meter penalties.

The look forward

Despite the defeat, the women remain leaders and are confident that they will get back on the road to success in the upcoming home game against HSG Plesse-Hardenberg, who are currently in third place. Coach Eggers remains optimistic and relies on his team's fighting spirit.

It's not just the gentlemen who have hope for improvement; The women also want to regain their top status and show that they are one of the strongest teams in the league. They train regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays in order to best prepare for the next games and to offer the fans exciting games.

The signs point to excitement, both for men and women. The next round in this exciting season promises a lot of action and emotions for the fans of HSG Heidmark. Let's stay tuned to see how things develop!
