The Dresden Ice Lions had a difficult day in Berlin last weekend. After the promising 4:2 win against Augsburg, the team experienced a bitter defeat 1:6 against the Eisbären Berlin under their new coach Gerry Fleming. The Eisbären managed to dominate the game in the first few minutes. Yannick Veilleux scored the first goal after just 150 seconds, followed by Markus Vikingstad, who scored another goal for the Berliners in the majority. The Eislöwen were only able to make it 1-2 in the 18th minute through captain Travis Turnbull, but the Eisbären were unstoppable and ultimately decided the game with further goals from Andreas Eder, Frederik Tiffels and again Veilleux, who contributed a total of two goals. MDR reports that the Eislöwen are in last place in the DEL table after this game.

The situation for the Ice Lions couldn't be more challenging, but Gerry Fleming is determined to work on the details. “We urgently need to improve our substitutions, avoiding mistakes and our power play,” emphasized the coach.
