Raid in the forest: Illegal techno party brings the highway to a standstill!
On the night of Sunday, August 10, 2025, an unannounced techno party took place at the Munich-Feldmoching motorway triangle, which ultimately ended in an unexpected police check for the approximately 100 guests. Loud Süddeutsche.de Police were alerted at 4 a.m. after receiving an emergency call about a person on the shoulder of the highway.
When the police patrol arrived on site, they immediately noticed the loud technical music coming from the adjacent forest. Some party guests had apparently crossed the shoulder of the highway when leaving the event, which officials classified as dangerous behavior. With the decision to close the highway for about 20 minutes, they wanted to bring the situation under control. Additional police forces were mobilized to break up the party and take down the guests' details.
Consequences for the organizer
The organizer of the party, a 26-year-old from the Freising district, is now facing several administrative offenses. In addition to violations of regulatory provisions, he also has to answer for nature conservation violations, such as tz.de reported. The police will initiate further investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the event.
However, this episode does not just represent an isolated event, but points to a broader discussion around drug policy and the security situation at techno events. Such parties often draw discomfort from authorities, not least because of the frequent drug abuse, as recent reports of raids on clubs show. Telepolis recently documented an operation by the USK special unit of the Bavarian police, during which various drugs were found during a search in the techno club.
A look into drug policy
The topic of drugs and their legal classification is always a topic of public conversation. During the said raid, over 25 visitors were caught with illegal substances. The topic is complex and is strongly influenced by the historical context of drug policy. Historically, states have often played an ambivalent role in the drug trade, which contributes to the debate about the wisdom of current prohibition policies.
What remains is the question of how such parties can continue to take place, despite all the safety precautions and legal measures. Potentially life-threatening behavior by guests on the side of the motorway raises more questions than there are answers. The Munich police have made it clear that such events are unacceptable without permission and pose a high risk for everyone involved.
