Serious accident in Landshut: Four injured after frontal crash!

Moosburger Straße, 84036 Landshut, Deutschland - A serious traffic accident shaked the Landshut district on June 11, 2025. Around 4:40 p.m. it crashed on Moosburger Straße between Niedererlbach and Obererlbach. A Nissan Micra, directed by a 35-year-old woman, and a Ford B-Max were involved, in which a 33-year-old driver, her 35-year-old husband and her 12-year-old child were sitting. Unfortunately, the accident did not go lightly.

The Nissan driver lost control of her vehicle in a left turn and got on the opposite lane. There was a frontal collision with the Ford, which had devastating consequences. The 35-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and had to be flown to a Munich clinic with a rescue helicopter. The inmates of the Ford B-Max were also not spared: they suffered serious injuries, but fortunately, they were out of danger. The fire brigade was on duty to free the Nissan driver from her vehicle, which demanded some effort from the rescuers.

rescue measures and investigations

The fire brigade was essential for the rescue measures. After the injuries were taken care of, the accident site was closed until around 8:15 p.m. in order not to hinder the investigation by the Landshut public prosecutor. This commissioned an accident analytical report to clarify the exact circumstances and causes of the accident. The material damage to the vehicles is not insignificant, both suffered a total of economic loss.

traffic statistics and safety in road traffic

Such tragic incidents are unfortunately part of a major problem that Germany currently faces. According to the information from destatis.de there was a total of around 2.5 million road traffic accidents in Germany, with the number of accidents increasing steadily. The traffic accident statistics are therefore not only important for special incidents, but also as a starting point for legislation and measures for traffic safety situation.

A look at the causes of the accident shows that insufficient distance, non -adapted speed and drive under the influence of alcohol are among the most common causers. In 2023, around 15,700 alcohol -related accidents were listed alone, which cost 193 people the lives and resulted in 18,686 injuries. This illustrates the importance of sensitization and education in traffic education in order to make the streets safer.

If you look at the development over the decades, it is striking that the number of traffic fatalities from 19.193 in 1970 was reduced to 2,839 in 2023. However, if you consider the continuously increasing number of traffic, the challenge for traffic safety is still high. With its "Vision Zero", the European Union is aiming not to record any racing deads by 2050.

In view of the current developments and statistics, it is important that we always stay in motion to increase safety on our streets. The increase in awareness and sense of responsibility, not only for drivers, but also among cyclists and other road users, is crucial. Because ultimately we are all responsible for safe cooperation on the streets.
