Additional parking spaces on All Saints Day: How to get there stress-free!
Preparations for All Saints Day in Munich are in full swing. From October 31st to November 2nd, additional parking spaces will be available at the surrounding cemeteries in order to best channel the rush of visitors. This reports muenchenunterwegs.de.
Especially around All Saints Day, when many Munich residents visit their deceased relatives, things can quickly become crowded in the cemeteries. In order to avoid bottlenecks and obstructions, not only additional parking areas, but also special taxi stands and disabled parking spaces were designated. These special parking options are available daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and are intended to enable smooth parking.
Parking options and restrictions
The additional parking areas include in particular:
However, the stalls in front of the cemetery entrances can also lead to bottlenecks in walking and cycling traffic. The city's mobility department therefore appeals to everyone involved to be considerate of one another. A conscious cooperation should help to enable stress-free visits to the cemeteries.
The mobility department also plans to use cycle path closures by the police when there is a high volume of visitors in order to ensure the safety of cyclists and pedestrians in particular.
