Freilassing loses again: Disappointing 4-2 defeat in Aubing!
The football headlines aren't exactly rosy for ESV Freilassing after last weekend. On September 28, 2025, the players in Aubing started another passionate but ultimately unfortunate match that ended in a 2-4 defeat. This defeat marks the fourth defeat in a row for ESV Freilassing, which doesn't exactly improve the mood in the team. Around 200 spectators watched the action in the Stadtion, while the hosts, SV Aubing, remained unbeaten and extended their series of seven games with six wins and one draw. As pn.de reports, coach Albert Deiter was annoyed by his team's many mistakes after the game.
Everything seemed to be going according to plan in the first part of the match when Timo Portenkirchner equalized to make it 1-1 in the 16th minute after Abdul Bangura took the lead for Aubing in the fourth minute. But the joy didn't last long: a free kick from Alexander Rojek brought Aubing back to winning ways in the 34th minute. In the second half, Portenkirchner was there again and converted a hand penalty to equalize 2-2 in the 68th minute. But hopes were dashed shortly afterwards when Balthasar Zimmermann gave Aubing the lead again in the 78th minute and Claudio Milican added the final point in added time.
A series of disappointments
ESV Freilassing's poor record so far in the Southeast Regional League is not encouraging. Already in the opening game they had to admit defeat 2:4 against TSV Murnau, which added another zero experience to the list. In the game, which also took place in the heat of over 29 degrees, Freilassing was only able to shine sporadically. Timo Portenkirchner provided some hope here when he equalized to make it 2-2. Nevertheless, the Munich team signed off on their good performance with a goal from an offside position, which completely spoiled the debut for the ESV. As bgland24.de reports, it remains to be seen whether the team can find its form in time.
The ESV will take a deep breath in the upcoming game against league leaders SpVgg Unterhaching II on Thursday, October 2nd. With a squad that is on average younger and includes five newcomers in the starting line-up, it is more important than ever to finally get the first three points of the season. The players are doing everything they can to correct the deficiencies and appear focused. The next meeting not only offers a new opportunity, but could also turn the momentum for the rest of the long season.
The line-up for the game against Aubing was as follows: Unterhuber, Niederstraßer, Wieser, Bischoff (88th Koller), Aschauer, Kryezi (55th Hussein), Radosavljevic (81st Spatzenegger), Schlosser, Portenkirchner, Selimi, Hafner (55th Bageritz). A look at the kicker.de website shows that the challenges for ESV Freilassing will probably not get any less as this season progresses.
