But while the champagne corks popped and the rockets lit up the sky on the night of December 31, 2025, there were also some traffic restrictions that had to be observed. The passage was closed between Ismaninger Strasse and Widenmayerstrasse for a distance of 611 meters until January 1, 2026. Widenmayerstrasse was also affected; here the closure extended to 614 meters. The reason for these measures was the New Year's Eve celebration at the Friedensengel. Increased traffic volumes and potential congestion were expected, particularly between 11:15 p.m. and 3 a.m. on New Year's Day.
Public transport adapted
The night bus and night tram lines ran consistently every 30 minutes, with some lines even running every 15 minutes. However, anyone traveling by bus had to be prepared for some changes. Bus 100 was rerouted from around 11 p.m. due to the celebrations, and the Reitmorstraße / Schack Collection stop was also moved to Oettingenstraße. Several other bus lines, such as lines 58 and 68, also had to be rerouted between Giselastraße and Pinakotheken.
