A group was recently invited to a group of politics interested in politics, including many new members of the Greens from Kempten, a guest in the Bavarian state parliament, from the member of the state parliament Eva Lettenbauer. During their visit, the participants had the opportunity to pursue a plenary debate from the grandstand and bring their concerns directly to one of the political fronts. A central topic was the improvement of public transport (public transport) in rural areas, one aspect that Lettenbauer considered particularly urgent.

Lettenbauer addressed the need for a mobility guarantee that strives to offer hourly connections between 5 and midnight for smaller places. "Public transport should not simply be eliminated, especially not during construction work," said Lettenbauer, who asked the Bavarian Minister of Transport to commission the Bavarian railway company (BEG) by financing temporary replacement connections. These demands are in accordance with the principles of the Agora Verkehrswende, which has been promoting the Germany ticket since May 2023.

Lettenbauer's urgent approach aims to promote the discussion about a Germany -wide mobility guarantee. "The Germany ticket alone is not enough if buses and trains hardly drive in rural areas," she emphasizes. According to data from the Agora traffic transition, it is crucial to also look at the existing bus and rail traffic in order to achieve the desired improvements. This results in urgency not only to start new initiatives, but also to determine constant quality standards for public transport.

The Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV) has already started various projects to promote the mobility transition in rural areas. A promising approach is on-demand traffic. This system makes it possible to operate traffic -specific flexible and could play an important role in reducing the dependency on the car.
