Siemens Mobility opens modern headquarters and creates 500 jobs!

On July 7, 2025, the time had finally come: Siemens Mobility opened its brand new headquarters in Allach, Munich. With an impressive investment of €250 million over the last two years, the site is set to be one of the most modern train factories in Europe. The new building, which has more than tripled the office space, offers space for over 2,500 employees and creates more than 500 new jobs. South German newspaper reports that Bavarian political celebrities were also present at the ceremonial opening, including Prime Minister Markus Söder, Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger and Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter.

The new location is not only an architectural highlight that combines traditional industrial architecture with modern elements, but also anchors Siemens as a pioneer in the railway industry. The electrically powered Vectron locomotive, which is produced in Allach, is now in use in more than 20 European countries. On this special day, the 1,750th Vectron locomotive was unveiled and handed over to a customer; A total of over 2,700 locomotives have already been sold. Together, these locomotives have covered over 1.2 billion operational kilometers.

The future of the railway industry

Digitalization plays a crucial role in the new Siemens Mobility headquarters. Tools such as AI-based analysis software and digital twins take center stage to significantly optimize production and maintenance. A three-fold increase in service capacity levels ensures that up to 80 locomotive overhauls can be carried out annually at the Rail Service Center, further increasing efficiency. Siemens press release outlines how Munich-Allach now represents the epicenter of modern train production.

A highlight are the innovative features of the Vectron locomotives, which are described as “9000 hp supercomputers”. These locomotives have the ability to perform 70 percent of maintenance jobs themselves, which not only saves time but also reduces the rail industry's carbon footprint. Siemens Mobility CEO Michael Peter emphasizes that the focus is on 100 percent availability of trains and improving the customer experience. Locomotive Report describes how the integration of digital technologies and standardized APIs improves access to crucial data.

A win for the region

By relocating the headquarters from Munich-Perlach to Allach, not only will Siemens be strengthened, but the regional economy will also benefit. The region is gaining highly qualified jobs and is positioning itself as an important location for the railway industry in Germany. By 2028, the number of employees will increase to over 2,500, which underlines the positive trend in Munich's development landscape.

Siemens Mobility has geared itself to the future with state-of-the-art technologies. These include laser-guided installations and innovative software solutions that further increase the efficiency of production processes. With these new impulses, the company is not only showing a high level of commitment to its own development, but also to the entire railway industry and its sustainable future.
