Unna's scariest Halloween night: fun and shock for the whole family!

The anticipation of spooky nights in Munich is increasing because the popular Halloween Night 6.0 is just around the corner. On October 28, 2025, the Alte Heide community center association is hosting an eerily beautiful festival that will delight both children and adults. From 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the event attracts with a colorful children's and family program that has something for everyone.

The highlights for the little ghosts and monsters include a horror children's train and the popular pirate treasure hunt called “Black Pearl”. The original file from “Nero & Rotanis” from the Ruhr area also provides a thrill. Things are particularly spooky in the spider's nest, where children can find delicious sweets and shimmering treasures. A total of 100 kilos of sweets have been prepared for the little scary friends in disguise.

Treats and spooky atmosphere

The food is not neglected! A food truck, a beer truck and a candy stand ensure that neither the adults nor the little ones go hungry. A spooky atmosphere is supported by ten smoke machines and live scarers that make the event scary. Tents are available on site for those looking to get some rest, while over 800 fresh ears of corn from a local farm are available.

From 9:30 p.m. the event turns into a night party with DJ Mario, where the party atmosphere sets in. Guests are welcome to dress up to delve even deeper into the horror.

Traditions and the spirit of Halloween

But while the people of Munich and people in the surrounding area indulge in Halloween traditions, there is also interesting background to the celebration of the spooky festival. Halloween, which has its roots in ancient Celtic harvest festivals, is traditionally celebrated on the evening before All Saints' Day, November 1st. Originally known as “Allhalloween,” it allowed people of the time to interact with the spirits of the departed while protecting themselves with festive fires. Over the centuries, various customs developed that are still celebrated today.

In the United States, for example, Halloween accounts for a quarter of annual candy sales. The trick-or-treating tradition has its roots in “souling,” where children would ask for soul cakes and pray for their loved ones. This shows that behind the spooky customs there is also a gesture of honor to the deceased, although opinions about whether Halloween should be celebrated vary among people.

So what about the celebrations in Munich? It remains to be seen how many monsters and ghosts will be on Halloween Night 6.0. One thing is certain: the city can look forward to a spectacular event that will properly welcome the dark season. Whether in the spirit of old Samhain or in a modern setting - the joy of horror and sweets never stops.
