Magnificent opening: Kempinski takes over the Royal Residence Nymphenburg!
At the beginning of this week the ceremonial opening of the Royal Residence at Nymphenburg Palace in Munich took place. Management of the impressive residence was officially handed over to the renowned luxury hotel group Kempinski. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for this exclusive accommodation, which is located directly opposite the picturesque Nymphenburg Castle.
The Royal Residence covers a total area of 836 square meters over three floors and offers exceptional facilities. This includes four individually designed bedrooms, seven elegant bathrooms, several comfortable lounge areas and a dining room for up to twelve people. Particularly noteworthy are the modern kitchen-living room and the private spa with sauna, steam bath and fitness room. A home cinema, complemented by a conference room and a wine cellar, ensures cinematic experiences. The outdoor area also impresses with a Mediterranean-style majolica terrace, which is decorated with fountains and artistic porcelain objects from the Nymphenburg factory.
A legacy is preserved
Barbara Muckermann, Group CEO of Kempinski Hotels, commented on the ceremonial opening and emphasized the importance of the project: “We have a good hand at preserving Nymphenburg’s cultural heritage.” The close partnership with HRH Prince Luitpold of Bavaria, who emphasized the combination of tradition and quality, is not only reflected in the administration, but is also reflected in the artistic design of the residence.
The artistic concepts of the Royal Residence are strongly influenced by its proximity to the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory, which was founded in 1747 and is therefore one of the oldest porcelain manufacturers in the world. Various rooms contain handmade porcelain objects and important works of art by internationally renowned artists such as Damien Hirst and Nick Knight.
Exclusive variety of offers
The offer for guests is just as exclusive as the rooms themselves. Booking the Royal Residence will be possible from March 1, 2025. A stay will start at prices from 25,000 euros per night. The residence is one of the upscale accommodations in the city and can be booked not only for private stays, but also for weddings, business events and other exclusive occasions. In addition, five separate apartments are available for accompanying staff upon request.
Overall, with the takeover of the Royal Residence at Nymphenburg Palace, Kempinski is relying on a long history of collaboration with the Bavarian royal family. This tradition goes back to the opening of the Hotel Vier Saisonen Kempinski Munich in 1858, which still stands as the epitome of luxury and quality in the hotel industry.
The renaissance of Nymphenburg Palace as a representative residence that is deeply rooted in Bavarian tradition, both culturally and historically, is clearly a reason for joy for the city and its visitors. The Royal Residence will certainly be a popular destination for discerning guests who want to experience a piece of Bavarian history up close.
