U-railway havaria on the Harras: Big disorders until Friday evening!
Großhadern, Deutschland - On Thursday afternoon there was an incident at Harras in Munich, which caused some inconvenience. A subway is derailed during maneuvering work, such as the evening newspaper . Fortunately, the train was at a low speed at the time of the incident, and there were no passengers in the wagons. No injuries were also reported, but the stop at Harras cannot be approached at the moment.
The Munich Transport Society (MVG) has immediately set up a rail replacement traffic between the underground stations Implerstraße and Partnachplatz. Travelers can also use the X30 bus lines from Brüdermühlstraße to Harras and 54 via Harras to the Partnachplatz as alternative routes. A commuting operation was established on the U6 line, whereby the trains only run between Clinic Großhadern and Partnachplatz as well as between Garching Research Center and Implerstrasse and diverted from Implerstraße to Fürstenried West.
consequences for subway traffic
The restrictions not only affect the U6, but also have an impact on the U3. This line continues to drive the regular line path, but passengers have to expect delays and isolated failures. The MVG estimates that the disabilities will continue until Friday evening, 11 p.m. In addition, travelers have to adapt to problems "until further notice", because a lack of staff and an inadequate number of subway trains ensure additional timetable changes, such as the Merkur reported.
The lines U4 and U7 are particularly affected. While the U4 runs all 10 minutes from Monday to Friday, the 5-minute cycle is missing in rush hour. On the U7, too, it is only driven between the Olympic shopping center and Sendlinger Tor, with shorter trains in use. Travelers between Sendlinger Tor and Neuperlach Center alternatively have the opportunity to switch to the U2 or U5. These measures are the consequence of problems that occurred at the beginning of 2024 and produced similar restrictions. The MVG is working on improving the situation as soon as possible. In the meantime, most passengers are asked to be patient and, if necessary, switch to other means of transport. Security is of course the top priority, and the MVG confirms that the company is always guaranteed.
