A culinary institution is celebrating a major anniversary in Munich: the Gandl restaurant on St.-Anna-Platz is turning 30. What once began as a modest corner shop has developed over the years into a popular meeting place for connoisseurs and gourmets. Owner Alexander Lutz, who also runs the Hotel Opéra in Lehel, has made the restaurant what it is today with a lot of dedication and creativity - a place where culinary delights are celebrated in a cozy atmosphere.
How tz.de reports, the Gandl relies on a fixed menu with classics that attract many returnees. The favorites include the popular “Gandl Spaghetti” for 15.80 euros, the Caesar salad for 14.50 euros and the Nicoise salad, which comes to the table for 18.50 euros. There is also a changing lunch menu with two courses for just 23 euros - that's something!
An anniversary to celebrate
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the restaurant is offering a special anniversary menu in August. This four-course menu impresses with a fresh wild herb salad, an aromatic tomato and pepper soup, grilled scampi on a bed of couscous and crowns the evening with a delicious crème brûlée with wild berries. The enjoyment is rounded off with a suitable aperitif, water and a bottle of fine wine.
A special treat: The restaurant is giving away an anniversary menu for two people. Anyone who registers by Tuesday, August 19th has the chance to win an evening full of culinary highlights. The menu voucher can be redeemed until September 13, 2025, so grab it in time!
